A propos de Maguelone

MAGUELONE

The label for curious music lovers

Since the first release in 1993, MAGUELONE’s catalogue has grown to include over 90 titles.

Whilst venturing off the “beaten track”, MAGUELONE has developed several collections:

Mélodiste Français, the most comprehensive, has rapidly expanded under the artistic direction of the internationally renowned baritone Didier Henry.

This extremely rich repertoire, inspired by a wealth of poetic works, was somewhat neglected in the second half of the 20th century. The catalogue currently features 25 albums form this collection.

MAGUELONE regularly puts the spotlight on French Soloists, from the saxophone to the double bass, from the Baroque era to modern times.

Two collections are dedicated to French composers:

Reynaldo Hahn (1874-1947): Apart from his mélodies, the first five albums have enabled a wide audience to discover his works for orchestra as well as his chamber music.

André Jolivet (1905-1974): MAGUELONE has just released the first complete recordings of his works for piano (including the Concerto), compositions for wind band,mélodies and more!

The OpéraComique collection, launched in 2002, takes us on a lyrical journey from Iacopo Peri’s “Euridice” (1600) to Paul Méfano’s “Micromégas” (1980), based on a text by Voltaire. MAGUELONE aims to add operas from the 19th and 20th centuries to this collection.
